Good Morning -
Sorry I wasn't able to email yesterday, seeing as to it was Memorial Day. President Jones lists all holidays that fall on Monday as "Prime Proselyting" days. So our P-Days are moved to Tuesday. It is kind of hard to adjust for a week, but we had a pretty good day yesterday.
It sounds like there is a lot going on in Bountiful. That's pretty awesome! It seems like this time of the year is always such a busy time as summer is coming around. Just like Bountiful, we are very busy here in Wisconsin.
The work is going quite well here. We are working very hard, and are finding lots of success. It's neat to see how the Lord works, and how as missionaries we can really gain a sense of his will if we have the faith. We can have our goals and our efforts consecrated as we live obediently to the missionary handbook.
As I've continued to strive to become more like Jesus Christ, I have seen the potential each of us possess as we humble ourselves before Him. It has shown me how much He truly does love each one of us, and how much He wants for us. He truly does want us to be, "...perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." (MATT 5:48)
One way we can become more like Jesus Christ is by being obedient to the commandments. When the Savior came to John the Baptist to be baptized he said this, ". . .Suffer it be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness." In the Book of Mormon, Nephi teaches what the "fulfilling all righteousness" meant. Nephi taught, ". . .But notwithstanding he being holy, he humbleth himself before the Father, and witnesses unto the Father that he would be obedient to him in keeping his commandments." (2 Nephi 31:7 (5-7))
We know that through obedience we can find prosperity, and joy in our lives. We know that we must live the commandments, according to our understanding, so that we may lead in righteous lives. We know that, ". . .the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." (1 Nephi 3:7)
As we live the commandments the Lord will prepare a way for us to be successful. We will come to find the justice of our Father in Heaven, and we will see how much he surely does love each and every one of us. As we obey each commandment I can promise the Lord will show us our eternal potential.
Love,
Elder Gautavai
